Evan Statton is the Sr. Principal Architect in Media and Entertainment at AWS. He has spent the last 20 years inventing the future of media technology with some of the largest media companies in the world. Evan works closely with Solutions Architects and service teams all over the world whose work impacts customers in all facets of media and entertainment. His work includes leading technology roadmap sessions within AWS, as well as visioning and education sessions with M&E customers. As a result, Evan has influenced over 40 AWS features. Evan has earned eight patents in video processing and transmission, and recently earned a Hollywood Professional Association Award for Engineering Excellence.
Prior to his time at AWS, Evan deployed the first national HD IP transmission system for MLB.com at a time when many in the industry were saying IP transport was not possible. Evan’s work paved the way to broad industry adoption of IP video transport which is now the industry norm. He then spent 4 years at NBCUniversal leading the design and implementation of over 200 transmission and playout channels.
Evan holds a Masters degree in electrical engineering and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in TV & Film, both from New York University. When not helping customers design their media workflows, Evan enjoys spending time skiing in the mountains of Colorado or trying to train his dog.
