David Crowley is Chief Technology Officer of Birch Infrastructure, PBLLC.  Dave has over 30 years of experience in fiber and networking, having lead strategy and contract negotiations for network infrastructure (Terrestrial/Submarine Cable Systems, Metro/Long Haul Dark Fiber, Lit Services), content distribution networks, data center relations and design, as well as internet peering/transit. Prior to joining Birch Infrastructure Dave was Chief Technical Advisor at Microsoft, managing a $1B annual network infrastructure budget spanning the globe with multiple investments in subsea and terrestrial fiber projects valued in excess of $6.6B over the term while at the same time achieving $4.7B in cost reductions over that same term.  Prior to Microsoft Dave held senior roles at Global Crossing, Accessline Communications and Limelight Networks and brings a comprehensive understanding of network design, architecture, capacity management, traffic engineering, deployment, scheduling and support for some of the world’s largest network infrastructures.
